  1. Understand regulations from federal agencies.
    The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have established guidelines or regulations for managing pharmaceutical disposal.
